“We gonna be a team that wins. If you ain’t first, you’re last,” Abraham Madden states about the 2015 basketball season. The New Haven Shamrocks basketball teams are stoked for this season! After speaking to many of the players, the outlook for this year comes along with positive attitudes and competitive players! Last year, the Shamrocks beat Sullivan for the first time in 5 years! They are hoping to keep it a tradition.
After having an up-and-down season last year and not making it to State Championships, the teams still worked really hard to stay strong and came out to work even harder for this year. Andrew Menke had a few words to say, “I think the season will be strong. I feel that we will be a surprise to certain people including people in our community. Our team is a bunch of misfits who love to play ball.”

The Shamrocks have a great fan base and even better teammates! No matter how this season turns out, everyone will still be strong and proud of their fellow players.
The boys have their first game on November 24th against Belle!
On the Girl’s Varsity team, we have seniors Lauren Bergner, Emma Borcherding, Maddie Fleer, and Erin Scheer; juniors Brooklyn Covington, Emma Eichelberger, and Brooke Reed; and sophomores Emma Engelbrecht, Lauren Gerlemann, and Emily Scheer.
On the Girl’s JV team, we have sophomores Makenzie Bauer, Liz Hughes, Lydia Pataky, and Kate Ruediger and freshmen Andi Widemann, Olivia Williams, Kamryn Poe, Claire Meyer, Makenzie Munsinger, Claire Laune, and Julia McIntyre.
On the Boy’s Varsity team, we have seniors Jared Horstmann, Cameron Pritchett, Zach Boehmer, Andrew Menke, Michael McKernan, Keven McDowell and juniors Will Soete, Justin Shockley, Mark Senecal, Zack Vedder, and Brady Kruse.
On the Boy’s JV team, we have a junior, Aaron Penning; sophomores Aiden Bailey, Owen Buchheit, Abraham Madden, Jake Wilson, Austin Moeckli, Kyle Brumels; and freshmen Martin Lewis, and Ethan Groner.
And last, but not least, on the Boy’s Freshmen team, we have Sebastian Blair, Trevor Blankenship, Ethan Groner, Trenten Kormeier, Christian Patterson, Joseph Rethemeyer, Levi Schroeder, Tim Madden, Hunter Lensing, Domenic Olson, and Colton Ruediger.
