Hannah Kruse, Kayla Watson, and Lindsey Nixon placed 2nd in marketing as a group, and Kayla Watson also placed 3rd in Accounting 2. “We worked really hard and were super nervous for the outcome, but we ended up doing really well!” Kayla explained . All of these girls are eligible to compete at Nationals.
Emma Eichelberger placed 4th in Sales Presentation. Emily Lewis had a top 8 finish in Business Presentation. Dakota Schroeder, Emma Borcherding, and Maddie Fleer finished in the top 8 in Emerging Business Issues. Maddie and Emma were both very excited to place in the top 8. In fact, after their initial presentation, they did not think they would advance. When Mrs. Strickland told them they had made it, they were shocked. Maddie recalled, “It was exciting and thrilling.” After their event was over, Maddie and Emma both saw FBLA state as a rewarding experience. Emma pointed out that “there were great speakers” at the event, and Maddie said that she met “many cool people who were outgoing and driven.”
While the students were in Springfield, they also took time to watch the Springfield Cardinals play a game, which they won. Dylan Goodwin really enjoyed seeing the game. “The trip was fun, and I even caught 3 foul balls at the baseball game!” proclaimed Dylan. Beth Schenck also went to FBLA state. “It was fun, I'm glad I'm in FBLA and had the opportunity to attend this year's competitions.”
The students definitely enjoyed the trip, and most said they will probably attend FBLA state next year, hoping to see another baseball game and further their business skills.
