Bethany White, another yard sale -er, had a successful sale as well. “We inherited the home from my grandmother and planned on selling everything inside. We really didn’t have much use for the house or any contents in the house so our goal was to sell everything inside. We ended up selling the house!” She plans on having another yard sale again next year.
The BBQ also turned out to be a great success. The barbeque opened at 9am and continued until they ran out of meat. They served pork steaks, bratwursts, roasted corn, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Steve Roth, president of New Haven Chamber of Commerce, said, “There were people lining up at 10:00! We were all out a little after noon. So, this was a very successful project for us.” The money raised will be used in different projects the NH C of C will participate in throughout the year, including putting welcome signs along Highway 100 and possibly having a mural painted downtown.
“This occasion has been going on annually for eighteen years, and each year it gets better and better.” Steve Roth commented.
If you did not get a chance to get out and participate, stay tuned for information about next year’s event.
