Another semester has passed by all the students of New Haven High School. We are on to our second semester of the year. Many students are happy to have seen this year pass by so fast. Many students set goals per semester involving grades or the amount of events students want to attend.
There are plenty of things going on this semester. When asked if students had any special plans for this semester, Morgan Branson, junior, responded, “I am excited for prom decorating, the Stuco field trip, FCCLA field trip, [and the] German trip.”
Natalie Buchheit, sophomore, shared that she was excited for the “FCCLA field trip.”
Caroline Otten, sophomore, said, “I plan to study a lot more.”
In the plethora of things to be excited about, all of the students asked said that they were all most excited for the semester to end and summer to come around. I guess no matter how much kids seem to enjoy school, when the warm weather rolls in students can’t wait to put down the pencils and pick up the pool noodles.
Lydia Otten, junior, stated, “I am very excited for prom. I can’t wait to decorate the gym!”
Diana Ribera, senior, added, “I am very excited for senior trip, because it’s been highly anticipated and I’m excited to see all the monuments.”
Setting goals is an amazing way to start off a year or a semester. When asked what goals the students have set for this semester, everyone asked mentioned keeping their grades up, passing all their classes, or not failing as the top item on their mental “to do” list.
Hannah Knoppe, junior, also said, “I need to study more, so I can put more effort into my school work, so I can maintain my grades.”
With the year passing so fast, setting goals and getting excited for events such as prom or field trips are a big part of a NHHS student’s daily routine. Good luck in the new semester, Shamrocks! Keep your eye on the prize!
