Have you ever had a class in school that you couldn't wait to attend each day? Below, students at New Haven High School discussed the classes that they love.
Jamie Liggett, junior, said that her favorite classes are foods and FACS class. When asked to explain, she commented, “I like foods and FACS class because I like to cook with a group.”
Destiney Quick, freshman, expressed that her favorite class is P.E. When asked why, she explained, “I don't get homework and coach is pretty flexible with lessons, meaning he usually is okay with a small plan change, such as letting us play tag rather than running laps.”
Destiney is hoping to take German 1 next year. She commented, “I'm excited to learn a different language.”
Lauren Hoerstkamp, junior, stated that her favorite class is German and P.E. She explained, “German, because I love Mrs. Koch and all of my friends are in that class. She is also an amazing and easy going teacher. P.E., because all of my friends are in that class and we get to goof off and have a good time.”
Lauren is looking forward to taking pottery and going to Four Rivers Career Center next year. Lauren said, “All my great friends are going to be in that class with me [and] I'm excited to do something new and go to VoTech for teaching careers.”
Ashlyn Beckmann, freshman, expressed that her favorite class this year was pottery. When asked to explain, she said, “I can explore my creativity and artistic ability.” Ashlyn is hoping to take Foods next year because she loves to cook and wants to learn more tricks and tips to make a healthy meal.
Another student said that their favorite class was independent study, because they are able to be creative in their own way. They are hoping to take T.V. studio, because they like to take photos and hope to learn more about photography.
A classmate said that they love community service because they are able to go to Little Mac’s Pre-school. Another classmate commented that their favorite class is Current Events, because they get to talk about topics that matter and debate them as well.
A high schooler said that they love American History, because they get to laugh and have fun. Another high schooler said that they love P.E., because they liked having fun between their first and third periods. They said it helps get their mind off of school work and they can have fun with their friends and get physically fit.
There are many different classes to take at New Haven High School. Even though pre-registration has passed, there is still a chance to change your mind about classes you are going to take next year. Have a good year and good luck on getting the classes you hope to take next year!
