Emily Scheer, has been honored as New Haven High School’s fourteenth recipient of the William N. Kelley Family Scholarship from the Class of 2018. Emily is the daughter of Jim and Angie Scheer of New Haven. The “William N. Kelley Family Scholarship for Science & Engineering Scholarship” was established by the William N. Kelley family, Mary, Bill, Bill, Jr., and Tim, to show their appreciation for the educational opportunities offered by the New Haven School District and to encourage the future of science and engineering in America. The scholarship is a $5,500 scholarship payable over 4 years. Only students planning on majors in engineering, science, or teaching science or math, are eligible to apply. Emily was extremely involved in school serving as President of the Family Career & Community Leaders of America. She is the Activities Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, treasurer of the Class of 2018, co-captain of the softball and girls basketball team, co-chaired the Salvation Army bell ringing with the New Haven Chamber of Commerce and served as the County Treasurer at Missouri Girls State in the summer of 2017. She was a member of the girls basketball team, the softball team, baseball manager, FBLA, National Honor Society, Shamrock Conservation Association, student council, and marching and pep band. Emily will continue her education at the University of Missouri - Columbia in Animal Science. |
