This past week, November 27-30, the New Haven 8th grade boys' team played in the Union Tournament.
Going into the tournament New Haven was ranked third and played the sixth seed Hermann Bearcats. The Shamrocks won their first round matchup 35-21 with two people in double figures, Charlie Roth and Logan Williams, both scoring 10 points each.
In the second round New Haven played the second seeded Union Wildcats. Union won 38-16 in an all around disappointing game for New Haven with no player reaching double figures. The top two scorers were Logan Williams with eight and Isaac Vedder with four. That loss put the Shamrocks in the third place game against the fourth seed Washington Blue Jays.
New Haven rallied and won 36-25 to win the third place plaque. Two players reached double digits again with Logan Williams scoring thirteen and Mitchell Meyer scoring ten. The win gave the 8th grade Shamrocks team their first time win against Washington.
