On Thursday, October 17, the softball girls played their first round of Districts at Linn. They competed against Belle and came out with an exciting win. Competing in our District was Belle, Cuba, Hermann, and Linn. The score was 3-0.
The starters were Madison Langenberg, Meagan Holtmeyer, Mackenzie Wilson, Brande Kubiak, Lexi Sidwell, Emilee Hinten, Ryan Stutzman, Brenna Langenberg, and Jessica Underwood. The alternates were Kate Dittberner and Lindsey Steinbeck.
The softball team then played on Friday, October 18, against Linn and lost.
After, the girls were asked how they felt they had played on Thursday.
Junior Madison Langenberg said, “We played very well and had very few errors.”
Junior Emilee Hinten responded, “I think we played very well. We were all very excited and ready to go from the beginning of the game.”
Freshman Jessica Underwood added, “I think we played very hard.”
Next, they were asked if anything exciting had happened during the game. Many said that they were excited because Mackenzie Wilson had hit a homerun. The team also added they were excited that they had won.
