Every year parents of the senior students purchase senior ads. In their student’s ad, they can put baby pictures, along with a sweet message to their child, whether it is saying how proud they are of them or something funny. This can be a great way to keep all of the memories from when they were just a few days old to now as they are becoming independent adults.
The yearbook class, along with the art teacher, Mrs. Katie Borcherding, put together the senior ads for the students and parents.
Seniors were asked what they think their parents/guardians wrote. Meagan Holtmeyer commented, “It will either be super funny or sound really stupid and cheesy and ‘we love you’.”
“Honestly, something really embarrassing,” mentioned Johnna Bloch.
Paige Remillard said, ”I'm pretty sure my paragraph is going to be super embarrassing.”
Lydia Otten voiced, “I think they wrote something that I should really listen to and remember for years to come.”
“I'm sure whatever my parents wrote was probably funny and sarcastic,” commented Lauren Hoerstkamp.
The senior class commented on what kind of pictures their family put-- if they were embarrassing, cute, etc. Natalie Pecaut said her pictures probably are “embarrassing and cute.”
“The pictures were cute, but they mostly showed my character, which most often was embarrassing,” commented Lexy Sidwell.
McKenzie Overschmidt said her pictures were probably “crazy and funny and maybe a little embarrassing.”
Keerstin Mason mentioned, “I think some of my pictures might actually be kind of cute since my mom decided to do an ad from her and an ad from my dad.”
McKenzie Pecaut expressed, “My pictures could be a little embarrassing but parents might think they are cute.”
As their last year of high school comes to a close, their senior ad is just one of the many things that will give our senior students a flashback to their years at New Haven High.
