New Haven High School has taken on spreading awareness for Mental Health Week. Mental Health Week was on March 25th through the 29th. FCA and Student Council both put together something for each day of the week to get the student body and the teachers involved.
The student body was asked to share their thoughts on how the school took part in Mental Health Week.
Claire Meyer said, “It was really awesome hearing all the positive feedback from people who liked the music being played in the hallways.”
“I think we should celebrate things like this more often because it makes everyone feel better about themselves,” stated Chloe Kearney.
Lauralie Grater shared, “My favorite thing about this week was that I got to paint the mirrors in the bathroom without getting in trouble!”
“My favorite activity this week was the warm fuzzies. This year I actually tried to give out as many compliments as I could and got rid of all of my string. It was pretty fun. It made me feel good-- it was a good way to spread positivity around the school,” mentioned Alex Trentmann.
As you can see, many students enjoyed getting involved with the activities the school provided for Mental Health Week. The student body relished spreading awareness for this week. It helped people come out to talk about serious topics and come together as a whole!
