New Haven High School senior, Meagan Holtmeyer is the recipient of both the Graden D. Lovelace Memorial Scholarship for STEM and the William N. Kelley Family Scholarship. Meagan is the daughter of Matt and Courtney Holtmeyer of New Haven. The Graden D. Lovelace Scholarship for STEM was created to give students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math careers an opportunity to further their education in those careers. The scholarship is worth $4,000 payable over 4 years. Only those students pursuing careers in STEM are eligible to apply. The “William N. Kelley Family Scholarship for Science & Engineering Scholarship” was established by the William N. Kelley family, Mary, Bill, Bill, Jr., and Tim, to show their appreciation for the educational opportunities offered by the New Haven School District and to encourage the future of science and engineering in America. The scholarship is a $5,500 scholarship payable over 4 years. Only students planning on majors in engineering, science, or teaching science or math, are eligible to apply. Meagan was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FCCLA, FBLA, National Honor Society, and Student Council. She served as Student Council Vice President her junior year and was the President her senior year. Meagan also served as the National Honor Society Treasurer. Meagan played softball and basketball all four years of high school and was Academic All State in basketball. Meagan will continue her education at the University of Missouri where she will pursue a degree in Pre- Med. |
