John P. Dieckhaus, 79, of Washington, MO, passed away April 16, 2018 at Grandview Health Care, Washington, Missouri. John was born in Washington, Missouri on August 31, 1938, a son of the late Theodore & Hortense (Whitholder) Dieckhaus. He was the husband of Ruth Ann (Gratza) Dieckhaus. They were united in marriage on October 17, 1959 at St. Paul Church, Berger, Missouri. John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Assumption Church, New Haven, the Knights of Columbus, Washington, and of the U.A.W. He worked for Chrysler for over 40 years as a welder repair technician. In his free time he enjoyed going fishing. John is survived by his wife Ruth Ann, of the home, a daughter, Mary Jo Stolte & husband Orville, of Beaufort, Missouri; a son, Jeffery T. Dieckhaus, of New Haven, Missouri; by a sister Delores Bonnot and husband Larry, of Washington, Missouri; a brother, Charlie Dieckhaus and wife Deanna, of Union, by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard Dieckhaus. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, New Haven, Missouri, with Father John Deken officiating. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery.
