On June 28, 2018 the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in the 6000 block of Hwy CC, Leslie MO. where there was several firearms stolen from inside the residence, We also received a report of a burglary on June 29, 2018 that occurred in the 800 block of Warren Road, Gerald, MO. where there was a television stolen. On June 28th a St. Clair PD officer got in a foot pursuit with one of the suspects; this suspect was in possession of firearms stolen from one of these homes. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and was able to locate the stolen television which had been sold. Two subjects were arrested and charged; Justin I. Baxter a 19 year old male from Union charged with 2 counts of Burglary; bond was set at $50,000. Also charged was Dustin V. Hayes a 20 year old male from Poplar Bluff, MO charged with 2 counts of Burglary, 2 counts of stealing, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
