On Friday August 31, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 2005 Chevy Tahoe that had been stolen from Judith Springs Road. Witnesses in the area reported seeing a male and female in the area prior to the vehicle being stolen. On Saturday September 1st, a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper attempted to stop the stolen Tahoe but the vehicle fled. A pursuit entailed and the occupants ultimately abandon the Tahoe off of Roller Road. A few hours later the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male and female who stole a 1989 Ford truck off of Brueggemann Farm Road, which is in the area where the Tahoe was abandoned. The owner of the stolen Ford truck started chasing them through farm trails located on their property until the truck became stuck in the Bourbeuse river bottoms. The owner of the vehicle reported seeing a male and female flee from the vehicle and cross the Bourbeuse River. Several hours later campers on the Bourbeuse River reported a female walking up to their camp site. Deputies responded to the camp site and arrested a female without incident, an hour later the same campers reported seeing a male hiding in the woods across the river from them. Deputies returned and crossed the river taking the male into custody. Charges for tampering with a motor vehicle were applied for and warrants were issued for both subjects. The bond amount on both suspects was set at $30,000. The female is identified as Keeli Morgan, a 22 year old female from Robertsville and the male is identified as Zachariah Hobson, a 36 year old male from Wright City. Sheriff Pelton would like to thank the citizens for their assistance.
