Picture
On March 4th, 2019 at approximately 12:09 p.m. deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Petro Mart located at 105 Hwy AT, Villa Ridge for a report of a domestic assault.  The suspect left the scene in a vehicle prior to the deputies’ arrival.  The vehicle description was broadcasted to surrounding law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout. Upon arrival, deputies located the female victim who is an employee at the business.  She identified the male suspect with whom she had been in a previous relationship and resided with in Texas. After their separation she moved to the Franklin County area while the male continued living in Texas.  The victim told deputies she noticed what she believed was the suspect’s truck pull onto the parking lot at which point she requested a co-worker to go outside to verify the plates on the truck were out of the state of Texas.  Once this was confirmed, the victim went to the manager's office where she began viewing the security cameras and observed the truck near the rear of the business.  While in the office she heard the back door to the business open at which time she exited the office only to be confronted by suspect. The suspect pushed her against a wall at which time she told him she was calling law enforcement.  He then left the business through the back door.  A Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper located the male in his vehicle sitting in a vacant lot near the intersection of Hwy AT and Hwy O.  Franklin County deputies responded to the scene and took him into custody. A warrant was issued on the suspect for Domestic Assault 3rd degree and Stalking 2nd degree. He is identified as Jason T. Janke, age 44 from Webster, Texas. Bond was set at $40,000 cash only.

As people are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Steve Pelton
