Many people would agree that Dori McCarty is a very bright and driven student. This month she has earned January Student of the Month. Dori has worked very hard to earn this title.
In order to be considered Student of the Month, you have to meet specific requirements. The teachers look at attendance, grades, attitude, and your determination. Dori has met all these specific requirements.
Dori was asked how she feels about being chosen as Student of the Month.
She replied with, “I was surprised because I didn’t think I did anything worthy of getting Student of the Month.”
Dori was also asked about any added perks of being Student of the Month.
She replied, “I get a parking spot, but I don’t drive so it really doesn't count as a perk. There is also the added pride in it as well.”
Dori was asked one last question which was what advice would you give to a student who is trying to be Student of the Month.
She replied with, “Just be yourself and be kind to teachers and you will be noticed.”
Being chosen as Student of the Month is a big honor in our school. So next time you see Dori in the hallway, tell her congratulations.
