On September 21st and 22nd, the New Haven cheerleaders were selling cotton candy during the New Haven Balloon Glow and the Balloon Race. They were raising money to be able to pay for their uniforms, shoes, bows, or socks for the upcoming season.
When asked how they felt while selling cotton candy, Bernabe Ribera, junior, said, “I felt really good about helping out with the cotton candy.”
Even though the weather was cold Friday night, many cheerleaders have said that they still have great memories.
The cheerleaders were questioned on what their favorite moment was, and senior Lexi Oetterer said, “When Miranda and I went walking around with cotton candy on one of the sticks. The second family that we went to took seven bags and emptied our stick.”
Senior Miranda Durbin stated, “I love being a part of a team, and to see our entire team together-- it was great.”
Bernabe Ribera said, “My favorite moment was when Miranda and I went out with the cotton candy stick and sold them all in less than 10 minutes.”
Freshman Miranda Yarbrough said, “I don't have a favorite moment per se, but I loved watching the little kids' faces as they got their cotton candy or [while] watching the cotton candy spin.”
Great job, cheerleaders, for selling cotton candy. Hope the upcoming season is a great one!
