![]() The New Haven School Board approved the selection of Aaron Peirick as the new principal of New Haven High School and New Haven Middle School. Mr. Peirick will assume the position on July 1, 2025, replacing current principal Tina Wnuk, who was recently hired as the Spring Bluff School District superintendent. Mr. Peirick most recently served as the physical education teacher at New Haven High School for the past eleven years. Prior to teaching physical education, he taught industrial technology at New Haven High/Middle School for two years and has also served as the head boys’ basketball coach for the past eleven years. Additionally, he has coached baseball, track and field, and middle school girls’ basketball during his career. Dr. Hoener commented, “Our committee was very impressed with Mr. Peirick during the interview process. His long-standing dedication to the school has given him a unique and comprehensive understanding of the school environment. Moreover, having lived in New Haven his entire life, Mr. Peirick has developed a deep pride in our community, and I am confident that he is ready to transition into an administrative role.” “I am very excited to step into this new role and to continue working with our Shamrock students, staff, families, and community”, said Mr. Peirick. “Together, we will help our students uphold our Tradition of Excellence and reach their full potential. I take tremendous pride in our school and community, and serving as principal means so much to me. I would like to thank the Board of Education, Dr. Hoener, and the hiring committee for placing their confidence in me. I can’t wait to get started!” Our senior class is gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime—an 8-day journey across 15 states packed with educational stops, historic landmarks, and unforgettable memories in the making! Stay tuned as they hit the road to explore the stories, sites, and history that have shaped our nation.
Maggie Hoener is the March NHHS Student of the Month. She is a junior and the daughter of Joshua and Jaime Hoener. Maggie is involved in Volleyball, Boys Basketball Manager, Student Council Vice President, Class Treasurer, FCCLA, and NHS. Maggie has won the following awards: Academic All Conference, A honor roll, and Above and Beyond Leadership Award in Student Council. Outside of school, Maggie enjoys cooking and baking, making sourdough bread, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and shopping. Last summer, Maggie saw Lainey Wilson in concert at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Maggie’s favorite thing about being a Shamrock is that she’s a fourth-generation Shamrock, and it's pretty cool that she’s a part of the same Tradition of Excellence as her mom, grandparents, and great-grandparents! Her favorite subject is Algebra ll because there is always a right and a wrong answer. The engaging and calming atmosphere is a plus! Maggie’s teachers appreciate her dedication and involvement as a junior, recognizing her academic excellence, leadership in prom planning, and the strong example she sets through her organization and commitment. Congratulations, Maggie!
Camila Romo-Vazquez is the March NHMS Student of the Month. She is in 7th grade and is the daughter of Alma and Ruben Romo. Camila is involved in Student Council, NJHS, and Track. Outside of school, she loves doing arts and crafts and spending time with her dogs. She enjoys helping people and making them smile. Camila is a member of the St. Joseph Youth Group. Her favorite school subject is either choir or art because they get to do things more often than they do in other classes, and they are lots of fun to be in. Her favorite thing about being a Shamrock is the fact that we all support each other, especially in a small school like ours. Her teachers report that Camila consistently demonstrates outstanding dedication to her studies, kindness to peers, and a positive attitude in the classroom. Camila is not only diligent and responsible but also actively contributes to class discussions and supports others in group activities. Her enthusiasm for learning and genuine respect for everyone around her truly set her apart. Congratulations, Camila!
