Fuller House was premiered as a Netflix original series on February 26, 2016. Citizens Bank in New Haven, Missouri, recently presented a check to New Haven High School. The money was provided through customers of New Haven’s Citizens Bank that use their school spirit debit cards.

Scenic Regional Library is embarking upon a two-year, $12.8-million building plan that will completely replace branch libraries in five communities and significantly expand and renovate two existing facilities. The project does not include plans for Union and Hermann, which are still in the developmental stage and will be addressed separately. All the new branches will feature programming rooms, which will also double as community meeting space, and on-site parking. A forum will be held in each community in the coming months to obtain input from the public on the design of the new facilities. The City of New Haven has received tentative approval for a federal grant to construct a pedestrian bridge over Highway 100. The City learned in early February that the project had been recommended for funding through the East-West Gateway Council of Governments. By Rachel Connell Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17th, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland. Erin Scheer, daughter of Jim and Angie Scheer, of New Haven has been honored as New Haven High School's Daughter's of the American Revolution "Good Citizen" for the 2015-2016 school year. This award, sponsored by the Valley of the Meramec Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is given to a senior student, male or female, nominated by the faculty who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in their school, home, and community. Erin has leadership roles as the National Honor Society President, the FBLA President, and was President of the Class of 2016 her freshman year. She has played volleyball and basketball all four years of high school and is a member of the 2nd place state volleyball team this year. Erin is co-captain of the Marching Band Auxiliary and co-captain of the varsity basketball team. She is a member of FCCLA and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has earned many awards including Academic All-Conference, Academic All- State, First Team All District, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-State in volleyball. Erin was Academic All-Conference, and First Team All District in basketball last year. She has received the Academic Activity Award in all three previous years of high school. She is also active in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Youth Group. Erin will graduate in May and pursue a degree in Business at the University of Missouri, Columbia in the fall. The New Haven High School Shamrock Garden Club received a seed grant from High Mowing Organic Seed Company to purchase vegetable, herb, and flower seeds for the 2016 growing season. The company is based in Vermont and donates thousands of seed packets each year to schools, community gardens, seed libraries, and senior centers across the country. http://www.highmowingseeds.com/

In preparation for large voter turnout at Tuesday's Presidential Primary election New Haven High School students joined poll workers to assist at New Haven area polling locations. Student workers selected to assist with elections were all representatives of the NHHS Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America organizations. These students worked the full election day, 5:30am-7:00pm, alongside other community members. The money each student earned goes directly back into the organization each student is a member of to fund school trips to Student Council State Convention and FBLA State competition this Spring. Each year, the Three Rivers Electric Cooperative puts on an essay contest for the surrounding counties. Hundreds of essays are submitted, and then the top 12 essays are chosen; those students become finalists in the contest. From there, these 12 students must compete to make it into the top 6. The top 6 students win an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. By LeeAnna Linton On Friday, February 26, the New Haven girls basketball season came to an end. The girls’ last game was against the Clopton Hawks, in the class 2 district 4 championship game at Crystal City. By Patricia Weatherly and Rachel Connell As the boys’ basketball season came to an end, the coaches, Aaron Peirick and Johnny Viehland, as well as the players, reflected on their season. They thought about how well they did and what they could have done differently. These reflections are used to make the goals for next season. During the evening of March 13, local law enforcement were informed of an escape involving two inmates from Madison County, Mo. One of the suspects was wanted for murder. A former Franklin County Deputy and his family were visiting with the Sheriff at the time and were made aware of the dispatch. While returning home, the ex-deputy and his family observed a truck at the intersection of Hwy 47 and 50 North. The truck turned east on Hwy 50 and had markings stating Madison County Highway Department. Everyone is invited to join New Haven branch of Scenic Regional Library for Maggie’s Story. This dramatization of the life of an indentured servant will be presented on Thursday, March 23, 6:30pm at the Old New Haven School, 810 Maupin Ave.
