Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low sodium--these are just a few criteria that cafeteria workers have to look out for. “We try to serve nutritious meals that students will enjoy and [that will help them] do better in school activities,” head of NHHS’ cafeteria Mary Wilson stated. Some school districts, including New Haven, have been going by these guidelines before they were made to.

Homecoming coronation was held on February 6, 2015, in the New Haven High School gym. The coronation was held between the JV and varsity boys’ basketball games against Union. The January Student of the Month is Senior Kayla Borcherding. Kayla is the daughter of Heather Vedder and Jeff Borcherding. She is active in volleyball, basketball, track, FBLA, FCA, is the NHS vice-president, senior class vice-president, and the student council vice-president. McKenzie Overschmidt has been selected as the New Haven Middle School January Student of the Month. McKenzie is a very pleasant, polite and respectful student. Her work is always complete and is very conscientious of her work. She is helpful to others and friendly to all her peers. When we think of Valentine’s Day, we often think of love, romance, and that special someone. According to Merriam Webster’s online dictionary, Valentine can be described as, “A sweetheart chosen or complimented on Valentine's Day.”
How often do you go out on a date? If you’re a girl, do you expect the guy to pay for everything? It doesn’t have to be super expensive, but when it is, how much will a person spend in order to impress that special someone? On the other hand, how little do you spend for the simple dates, $5, $10, or just gas?
On January 30, 2015, the NHHS TV Video class went on a field trip to St Louis. They left at 8:20 and arrived back in New Haven around 2:30. This trip was both fun and educational for the students that participated.

On December 6, 2014, the New Haven High School Chapter of the National Honor Society hosted its first ever Jingle Jog 5k Run/Walk. With a great turnout of close to 100 participants, we were able to raise $2000 for the New Haven Track Project. In March of 2012, Citizens Bank began offering Shamrock Debit Cards through their School Spirit Debit Card Program. In 2013 Citizens Bank donated a check to the New Haven School District for $2,006.05, in 2014 they donated $2,843.45, and this year Citizens Bank presented a check in the amount of $3,539.95. Recently, a call for applications to NHS went out to New Haven High School Students. One might wonder why this organization would send out applications. To answer this question, a few things need to be understood.
