Over the last several years, the New Haven Youth League board has been investing their time and effort in the enjoyment, success, and education of the game of baseball and softball for all of the youth kids involved. Improvements made toward the Youth League include expanding between leagues in neighboring communities, adding new divisions, holding baseball and softball clinics, replacing equipment for all divisions, and offering a free Cardinal ticket to all players each year. The New Haven Youth League board has set a new goal for 2017 to construct a new 12'H x 14'W x 70'L batting cage to replace the existing cage at Lions Field. This new batting cage will be concrete with DuraTurf covering. They also plan to cover the new cage with a lighted pavilion to protect it from weather and allow the community to utilize it after sunset. The estimated cost of the project is $15,500. Several of our local businesses and organizations have stepped up to the plate in a big way! Donations received for this project are being processed through the New Haven Community Betterment organization and donors may receive a tax deduction for their donation. Should you want to make a donation, checks may be made payable to the New Haven Community Betterment and may be dropped off at Citizens Bank, c/o Tracy Langenberg.
